FASTING FOR GOVINDARAJAR BRAHMOTHSAVAM

A Devotee Narayana Namashivayadasar (36) @ Ganesan is a person who has fasted in many Hindu temples (Shiva, Vishnu & many hindu god temples) in Tamilnadu to emphasis importance of conducting Kumbhabishegam in centuries old temples. He suddenly started fasting inside the Chidambaram Natarajar-Govinadarjar temple premises without prior permission his motto was to strongly emphasis the importance of Brahmothsavam in divyadesam by fasting. The fasted baktha’s name is Narayana Namashivayadasar a perfect blend of Saivite and Vaishnavite name.
Great Dikshidars and Great Iyers have again shown that they believe in non-violence and their patience saved the face of Hinduism they dealt this issue legally. He was vacated outside the temple by police, later he went to fast before Thasildar Office, then Police had no choice but to arrest him.
There are so many good things we could do, if we feed the needy humans & animals that itself will make our God happy, God doesn't ask anything from us, but we devotees know why Brahmothsavam is very important (http://thiruchitrakoodam.blogspot.com/2008/06/what-is-brahmothsavam.html).
We all of us want Brahmothsavam to be conducted in this Centuries old divyadesam, it should not be at the cost of hurting the great dikshidars, great iyers & great saivite people, our wish is that their part should be more in conducting brahmothsavam.
Although we appreciate his bakthi and accept his act is non-violent, but it’s illegal it would only portray Hinduism in poor light. We have faith on Lord Nataraja he will take care of Brahmothsavam. We appreciate Dikshidars for handling this baktha with patience.
Our aim is integrating saivites and vaishnavites we won't allow anyone to break the bond. Again we confirm that we are closed for noble reasons as we declared already and we have no reason to continue.

WE ARE CLOSED FOR NOBLE REASONS

We have done what we have to do. Nothing more we could do, giving petition is a legal & right of every citizen. People even spread that we are financial abusers and hurt our noble intentions. One or two people who have no work send mails which hurt all our members, the people who are friends to them are also the victims. We have done everything legally and ethically. So to avoid people taking advantage out of this issue we have decided to close this issue at this point. We have deleted all our members and sending them the reasons and apology for it. But the community still can be accessed and read, but can’t continue as a community for all. We are proud to say we have done what we could do without hurting people. We have not closed in fear, because we haven’t done anything wrong, giving petition is a legal one. We have given all explanations; it consumes lot of time to answer people. People even have started opposite petition and opposite sites and advertise us. We don’t want anyone to gain benefits in this issue because the respect we have on Dikshidars is immense. Surely Lord Nataraja will help us in this issue.

Lets Pray OM NAMO NARAYANAYA OM NAMO BHAGAVATHE VASUDEVAYA

WHAT’S THIS PETITION ALL ABOUT?

We are not here for collecting donations as we are not in anyway related to the temple, we are humble devotees of Lord Govindaraja Temple that’s why in the First post you could see we declared Unofficial Site & Unofficial Community. The Tamil Nadu Government has enough money for that, it will grant money for Brahmothsavam. All Uthsavams are conducted in a noble intention. God visits all streets and gives blessings to his devotees it doesn’t means he is doing a wrong thing; we are here to facilitate your willingness to conduct Brahmothsavam in a Divyadesam.

If u wish that Brahmothsavam must be conducted you can vote here, the technology facilitate that. We created the petition in a noble intention that this will ease all the strains of devotees to exhibit their willingness to conduct Brahmothsavam, this petition will be forwarded to Chief Minister to Order for Brahmothsavam, as it is a Government temple we could only write petition, the Government is the chief authority to decide so we are humbly requesting them. Your comments will always improve us; many saints have said that we should fall in the legs of people who find mistakes in us.

If one says Jai Hind, other countries should not take in a wrong sense, that we say Only India Should live not other countries. It’s our duty to say Jai Hind and also open embassy to clarify their fears.

We believe that Narayanan is in whole universe and their comments will always be useful to correct ourselves. But as we are busy on other things we can’t reply soon but surely if any questions arise it’s our duty to clarify them, we are doing it as far as possible. If u find any doubts like this in any place we request to copy and paste the above all replies and please also read about Brahmothsavam and its significance.

WHAT IS BRAHMOTHSAVAM?

WHAT IS BRAHMOTHSAVAM?

Brahmotsavam means "Grand celebration" or a "celebration performed by Brahma". We will shortly see how both the meanings are appropriate for this event. Lord Indra once killed a Brahma-raakshasa (a Brahmin with demonic characters). In doing so, he incurred a great sin of killing a Brahmana- "Brahma hatya dosham(BHD)". To relieve Indra of this burden, Lord Brahma conducted a ceremony. In this ceremony, officiated by Brahma himself, Indra held Sriman Narayana ( Lord Vishnu) on his head during the special ritual bath "Avabritha Snaanam". This verily was the first Brahmotsavam.

Because of the immense cleansing power of Brahmotsavam, this utsavam is periodically performed in Temples to wash away all wrong doings that may have been incurred.
It is said that the Lord Brahma himself rendered the first Brahmotsavam seva
(service) to Lord Venkateshwara (Vishnu) of the Thirumalai shrine. Indeed, it is a
common belief that every Brahmotsavam is witnessed by Lord Brahma. In recognition
of this, a well decorated empty chariot is pulled in front of the chariot carrying the
deities at the processions held during the Brahmotsavam Brahma is believed to be
seated in that chariot overseeing the celebration. Thus, Brahmotsavam is also
referred to as "Brahmapratyakshotsavam" (celebration conducted right in front of
Brahma). References to Brahmotsavam can be found in Varaaha Puraanam (ch.18) and
Bhavishyotthara Puraanam (ch. 24).

BRAHMOTHSAVAMS IS NOT A NEW CONCEPT, TO KNOW ABOUT TIRUMALA BRAHMOTHSAVAM CLICK THE BELOW LINK IT IS APPLICABLE TO ALL TEMPLES, CHIDAMBARAM GOVINDARAJA PERUMAL BRAHMOTHSAVAM WAS BLOCKED IN THE MEDIEVAL PERIOD.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brahmotsavam
We are not claiming that Chidambaram temple is fully Vaishnative or saivite.
We respect the Dikshidars of the temple are from families which the lord himself chose hundreds of years ago to perform daily rituals and poojas. A male progeny is specifically obtained and dedicated to Lord Nataraja. It is their duty to protect the temple and all the rituals conducted at Lord Nataraja temple. Their service to Lord Nataraja temple traces back to BC. We always have great respect towards them and Lord Nataraja.
Honourable Dikshidars have unquestionable rights in Lord Nataraja temple.
But the Lord Govindaraja temple comes under Tamil nadu Government control. To conduct Brahmothsavam Government should order, so its the duty of Tamil nadu Goverment to order so we humble devotees are asking the Government. All Gods in that temple have uthsavams except Lord Govindaraja Perumal, TN Govt should order for that its our humble request. Its one among 108 divyadesams so Brahmothsavam is important.

The Brahmotsavam celebration provides a unique opportunity for all devotees to participate in the festivities and utsavas and experience the “Vaikuntha Anubhava” (heavenly enjoyment and feeling) and receive the blessings of Perumal.

PETITION DETAILS

PLEA FOR CONDUCTING BRAHMOTSAVAM IN MYTHOLOGICAL CHIDAMABARAM GOVINDARAJA PERUMAL KOIL (VISHNU TEMPLE)

To: THE CHIEF MINISTER OF TAMIL NADU, INDIA

Thillai Thiruchithrakoodam (Mythological name of Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, India) - Sri Govindaraja Perumal (Vishnu) Temple, Chidambaram is one among 108 Divyadesams (Ayodhya, Mathura, Dwarka, Badrinath, Mukthinath (Nepal), Tirumala Tirupathi, Srirangam like these great timeless Vishnu temples form 106 divyadesams + Cosmic Sea where Lord Narayan depicted in Yoga Nidhra posture + Vaikund forms the total 108 divyadesams) and eulogized in the paasurams of Kulasekara Alwar and Thirumangai Alwar, the history of the temple goes back to BC.
The Chidambaram temple is unique because it houses both Lord Nataraja (Lord Shiva in dancing posture) and Sri Govindaraja Perumal (Lord Vishnu) in shrines on the same premises.
The devotees of Sri Govindaraja Perumal are now keen on resuming the Brahmotsav festivities, but their endeavour has met with resistance from Dikshithars (Lord Nataraja Temple Priests).
The administrative structure is constricting from going ahead with religious rituals as ordained by tradition. The striking feature is that two set-ups are managing these temples: the Pothu Dikshithars are holding sway over the affairs of the Nataraja temple, and the hereditary trustee system is taking care of Sri Govindaraja temple.
While Dikshithars act independent of HR & CE Department, Govindaraja Perumal Koil is bound to submit accounts for auditing and seek grants through the department.
Like this temple, Sankarankoil (Located near Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu) has its own interesting story. Thousands of years ago the devotees of Lord Hari (or Vishnu) and Lord Shiva quarreled with each other to determine whose god is powerful. Then Lord Shiva appeared as Sankaranarayanar to mark his devotees to understand that both Hari and Shiva are one and the same. So it is held sacred by Saivites and Vaishnavites as well.
Lord Nataraja is one among the forms of Lord Shiva he would never oppose the Brahmotsavam festival for Lord Vishnu in Chidambaram. Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita said “Where there is power understand there I’m”. Lord Buddha is not only for Buddhist religion, his preaching is for the whole world, nobody can own him.
Gods don’t fight between them only human does it.
Your valuable vote will make the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to order for conducting Brahmotsavam in Sri Govindaraj Perumal Temple. Get the grace of Sri Govindaraja Perumal (Vishnu) and also the grace of Lord Nataraja (Shiva) because you have reduced his job of once again to take avatar of Sankaranarayanar to mark his devotees to understand that both Hari and Shiva are one and the same.

THE HINDU ARTICLE ON GOVINDARAJA PERUMAL KOIL BRAHMOTSAVAM

New controversy over Chidambaram temple rituals Special Correspondent
HR&CE Joint Commissioner to conduct hearing on May 21

CUDDALORE: Soon after the row over the recitation of Tamil verses, which was settled recently, another controversy is raging over the celebration of the Brahmotsav festivities in the Chidambaram Natarajar temple.

This has widened the divide between the Shivites and the Vaishnavites.

Brahmotsav festivities

The Vishnavites are now keen on resuming the Brahmotsav festivities that were stopped over a century ago, but their endeavour has reportedly met with resistance from Dikshithars. Following a representation, Commissioner of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment T.Pichandi has directed Joint Commissioner Pon.Selvaraj, HR & CE, Mayiladuthurai, under whose jurisdiction the Chidmabaram temple falls, to conduct a hearing on May 21 with the representatives of both faiths to find an amicable solution.

The Chidambaram temple is unique because it houses both Lord Nataraja and Sri Govindaraja Perumal shrines on the same premises. It is hailed as one of the 108 Divya Desams (Perumal temples) in the country and eulogized in the paasurams of Kulasekara Alwar and Thirumangai Alwar.

The presiding deity, Sri Govindaraja Perumal, is depicted in a sleeping posture (kidantha thirukkolam), very near the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Nataraja, the cosmic dancer.

The Vaishnavites blame it on the administrative structure that is constricting them from going ahead with religious rituals as ordained by tradition and Alwars.

The striking feature is that two set-ups are managing these temples: the Pothu Dikshithars are holding sway over the affairs of the Nataraja temple, and the hereditary trustee system is taking care of Sri Govindaraja temple.

While Dikshithars act independent of HR & CE Department, the latter is bound to submit accounts for auditing and seek grants through the department. Now, hereditary trustee A.V.Rangachari is looking after Sri Govindaraja temple.
